    Description

You're purchasing my last of 2 super-rare "no standing" 2-sided cherry red colored street sign that hung on 7th ave in NYC in the 1950's.  This sign is 100% guaranteed old and original from the 1950's.  The sign is actually dated with an expiring regulation from June 30th 1954.  I purchased the sign and another that I recently sold that's identical directly from a business on 7th ave that sold hats on that street for over 60 years.  The owner verified to me that it hung in front of his shop. I'm lightening up on my collection and this has been one of my most fond pieces of signage.  It's in very good overall condition.  The very attractive shade of red is still bright and the lettering is original and embossed.  The permit no. for the parking spot is hand painted in unlike the rest of the sign which is permanently lettered.  Both sides are in nice vintage shape but one of them has some scratches in the center.  I leaned the sign on a shelf but it would also look great framed.  I'm sure it could be cleaned but I like it the way it is and never messed with it.  Why buy sign reproductions when you can own the real deal?
