    Description

    Based upon research, this vintage item is regalia of the Freemasons and is related to Satrap Tattenai, the 16th degree of Scottish Rites.
    Beautifully constructed of a wine colored satin, has an attached skirt on both sides in red satin, and has gold trim all over and gold fringe. Closes with 12 buttons down the front, has hooks & eyes in the back where you can adjust the size, and has an adjustable self belt that closes with 2 brass snaps 44" B x 46" W, skirt that wraps to the right is 24" L, skirt that wraps around the left is 21" L.
    Label from Van Horn & Son Philadelphia. It is an under robe, size 42, 57-16 stamped in black, lining marked L2, and has labels indicating it as 16th degree and Satrap. The same label is inside the skirt.
    Note: This garment is very heavy
    This piece came from a lodge that closed down about six years ago.  I have no idea of how old it may be.
