  • Condition: 1930s-1940s Contract made by Crayola under the Brand DraWell. There is a Red and a Blue cardboard outer Box color. Each Box contains its original 16 crayons. About 2/3 are unused and 1/3 are slightly used. The boxes have some wear as seen in the photos. These are rare to market with some of the highest Crayola Rarity. My mother was born in the 1930's and these were her crayons.

    VERY RARE  VINTAGE 1930's :  Crayola "DraWell " 16 Color School Crayons
    TWO (2) Full Boxes of 16 Color Crayons
    Crayola's lesser known Crayon Products
    :
    "Crayola" is the company most
    synonymous
    with Crayons.  However, Crayola also produced, or used
    contractors
    to produce, many different crayon products other than just "Crayola".  DraWell was one of those other Crayon brands produced by Crayola.
    They are considered very rare and rarer with all there original crayons.  CrayonCollectingdotcom (an amazing website if you have not visited it- the owner was very helpful in guiding me with this info) lists the DraWell Crayons as 9-10/10 in rarity.  In fact I have found a black box version but can not even locate a red or blue box in any google search, let alone a sale. I am offering both sets in this listing.
    These were my mother's crayons as a child.  She was born in the 1930's.  These were in my parents home of 50 years in a nonsmoking house in a humidity controlled environment.  My mom passed and my dad is selling the house and having me help him downsize.  We hope these go to a collector who will help preserve these rare and fine examples.
    Condition:
    Very well preserved and in very nice condition for these age and intended purpose. See detailed photos of all angles including the crayons themselves. There is a Red and a Blue cardboard outer Box color.  Each Box contains its original 16 crayons.  About 2/3 are unused and 1/3 are slightly used. The boxes have some wear as seen in the photos.  These Crayons are described as "Will Not Rub, Permanent, and Waterproof."  As such PLEASE be careful if you intend to use them as they will be permanent.
