    Description

Here is an original US theatrical half-sheet (22" x 28") movie poster featuring a mischievous-looking dinosaur that never makes an appearance in Bert I Gordon's half-baked prehistoric potboiler King Dinosaur (1955).  Mr BIG's second fiim is  not nearly as engaging as Beginning of the End (1957) or The Amazing Colossal Man (1957), but it is padded with about 15 minutes of lizard wrestling stock footage lifted from One Million BC (1943) and the iguana forced to stand on its hind legs that stands in for "King Dinosaur" looks a little bit like the one on the poster. And while the colorful poster makes it look like this might actually be a fun film for devoted 1950s sci-fi fans no matter how devoted you are you will be glad King Dinosaur is only 63 minutes long.  While this charming and colorful poster seems crude on the surface its tagline "Nothing like it in 150 million years" shows a deeper understanding of the film's place in the universe.
