Qulan is a rare species of an animal from the horse family, the Latin name of the species is EQUUS HEMIONUS. It was first described in 1775. In Kazakhstan, the kulan was found on Ustyurt and Mangyshlak and disappeared by the 30s of the last century. In 1953, Turkmen kulans were brought to the island of Barsakelmes in the Aral Sea. Since 1982, work began on their acclimatization in the national park "Altyn-Emel", Betpak-Dala and in northern Aktau.
On the obverse (obverse) of the coins in the right part there is the state emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan framed by a collage of animals and plants. On the left there is a logo of the National Bank and the inscription “100 TENGE” on a coin made of nickel silver with a quality of work “brilliant uncirculated”, indicating the denominations of the coin. Along the circumference of the coin are the inscriptions “QAZAQSTAN ULTTYQ BANKI” and “NATIONAL BANK OF KAZAKHSTAN”.
On the reverse side (reverse) there is an image of a couple of Qulan against the background of a steepe vegetation, in the upper part - the inscriptions "EQUUS HEMIONUS" (the Latin name of the species ) and in the bottom part - QULAN.
