The design concept of the coin illustrates the history of nuclear testing. The stylized image of a nuclear explosion in the form of a "mushroom" consists of two parts. The left part embodies the history of nuclear tests and is made in the form of fragments, symbolizing the lost lives and broken human destinies. The right part is made in the form of a stylized image of a dry tree as a symbol of the affected nature. The image of a green leaf in the dried crown of a tree is a sign of rebirth and hope.
On the obverse
of the coins in the central part on an ornamental background there are: the state emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan, along the circumference of the inscription QAZAQSTAN RESPYBLIKASY in the state language and REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN in English, in the upper part - the logo of the National Bank of Kazakhstan. The lower part contains information about the face value and weight of the coin, as well as about the metal and its fineness.
On the reverse
of the coins there is a stylized image of a nuclear explosion in the form of a "mushroom". Along the circumference are the inscriptions SEMEI IADROLYQ POLIGONYŃ JABYLGANYNA, in the upper part - the inscription SINCE THE CLOSURE OF SEMIPALATINSK NUCLEAR TEST SITE, in the center of the coins the inscriptions 30 JYL/YEARS and "1991-2021" indicating the anniversary date of the event.
