Ihling Bros Everard Co Navy Blue Gold Shield Masonic Tie

Vintage Navy blue tie with metallic gold shields and gold diagonal lines make for a striking tie. Tie is unusual in that at the bottom of the tie a few of the shields have dark blue thread embroidered over part of the shield. I am not sure if this a symbolic Masonic thing to do. It appears to have been done at the time it was made as the white backing is stitched in place. The cream colored backing is also unusual in the way it was sewn . It has a circular component under where the tie meets in the back. Made by the Ihling Brothers Everard Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This company was known for making Masonic uniforms. I don’t believe they are business anymore. From research, it seems they closed shop in the mid nineties. Beautiful and unusual.
