On one side is the rising sun emblem. The concept of the rising sun could have been inherited from the ancient form of Surya, “sun” worship which was based on light and warmth that the sun gave to the entire world. In Myanmar, in the “Glass Palace Chronicles”, the Kings are referred to with the title “Lords of the Rising Sun”, a tradition used by Pyu and Burmese Kings. On the other side is a “Srivatsa” symbol. This symbol is of ancient India origin, and was widely used by different religions to enhance the significance of the power of certain gods & goddesses. It was the original symbol of the mother goddess Yakshi or Sirima Devata. Srivatsa connotes house of “Sri” or temple, while Yakshi is the goddess of Fertility, Wealth, and Good luck. Above the Srivasta symbol is the Sun & Moon.
